At Zuss, we are proud to say that our poultry farm is certified by the British Poultry Council's "Assured Chicken Production" scheme, which ensures that our chickens are raised to the highest possible standards of animal welfare. We also have a "Red Tractor" certification, which guarantees that our poultry products meet rigorous standards for quality and safety.

How do you ensure the safety and sanitation of your poultry products during processing and transportation?

We take food safety and sanitation very seriously at Zuss. Our processing facility follows strict protocols for hygiene and cleanliness, and our transportation partners are carefully selected to ensure that our products are transported in the safest and most efficient way possible. We also regularly test our products to ensure that they meet or exceed all relevant safety standards.

What certifications does your farm have to ensure organic farming practices are being followed?

Our farm is certified organic by the Soil Association, which means that we follow strict guidelines for sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices. This includes using natural fertilizers and pest control methods, rotating crops to maintain soil health, and ensuring that our animals are raised in a natural and humane way.

What is the origin of the seeds and breeds you use on your farm?

At Zuss, we carefully select our seeds and breeds to ensure the highest possible quality and sustainability. Our seeds come from reputable suppliers who specialize in organic and heirloom varieties, and our breeds are chosen for their ability to thrive in our local climate and soil conditions. We are committed to preserving the biodiversity of our crop and animal species, and we work closely with other local farms and organizations to ensure that we are always using the best possible genetics.

How do you ensure the quality and freshness of your produce from harvest to distribution?

We take great care to ensure that our produce is as fresh and flavorful as possible. We harvest our crops at the peak of ripeness and carefully package them to preserve their quality during transportation. Our distribution network is designed to ensure that our products reach our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we work closely with our retail partners to ensure that our produce is displayed and stored in a way that maintains its freshness and quality.

Visited the farm on an open day, it was a nice summers day. We were shown all of the animals and can see the animals are fed and eat grass diets. The owners are knowledgeable and very passionate about tayyib meat and this will certainly rub off on you. The visit resulted in us deciding to eat less meat overall but buying quality meat from zuss rather than our local HMC butcher. The meat is quite different. Price led consumer s may find parts of the message patronising due to the cost of this choice but they do suggest eating a cheaper vegetarian diet instead. They do regular deliveries to London. The postage costs otherwise means that you cant order small amounts. You need a car to get here there is decent parking at the farm

Look no further for the best chickens only at Zuss! They truly have our seal of approval and we find them ticking all the boxes: 1. Method used to achieve 100% halal 2. Organic and free range 3. Freshness and taste 4. Customer service 5. No mass production We are now in our 4th year buying from Zuss and have had no problems whatsoever, infact we can never purchase from anywhere else again for the sheer reason of them maintaining exceptional high standards in both farming and product quality. Meat is seasonally available and local honey all of which at a reasonable price. I also would urge you to try the liver/organs as you can clearly tell the difference upon tasting…ie; super tender and clean… it surely proves the chicken’s source, diet, health etc This is a trustworthy family owned farm who put their heart and soul into their work, sharing/offering to customers like me who feels blessed to consume nature’s gifts as a special treat in mind, leaving you content and allowing you to focus on a healthy and varied diet in today’s complex world.

We were introduced to Zuss by an acupuncturist few years ago who advised on the importance of good, quality meat. Since that moment, we have been sourcing our chicken, lamb & goat from Zuss. We normally collect our supply directly from the farm - it’s not only an excuse to get out of London for a lovely drive through the countryside but also a chance to visit the farm from time to time. Saima & family are always welcoming and have always accommodated our requirements. We’ll also try to get fresh eggs if they are available on the day of our visit. Overall, we are very satisfied with their service and the quality of their meat. We also found their farm and slaughter areas to be well maintained during our visits. You wouldn’t want to go to any other butchers once you have tried theirs!

I’ve been buying my meat from Zuss halal for many years and once I tried their produce I never looked anywhere else. It’s a family business and they are very passionate about the animals they rear and the service they provide to their customers. They are very honest people and they have the best interest at heart. I love this place and I am very grateful to them for all the hard work they have done, so I can feed my family proper organic halal meat, the way it should be. I have recommended them to all my family and friends and will continue to do so.

The quality of the birds are “hand on my heart” the best I’ve ever had. My dad was a butcher when were young so we always knew we had the best meat. Years later I’ve seen the rise of the battery fams, and imported extra hydrated chicken. The quality of meat has probably never been worse generally. It is in this climate that I am glad to say I have sourced a good responsible farm that rears & slaughters chicken. It is a false economy to NOT buy true free range chicken. There is more meat per kilo, it doesn’t shrink when cooked, and you get the best tasting stock ever, and don’t forget it’s packed full of “brain food” omega 3. It’s just incidental that’s halal. The quality of the meat would rate with the best artisan poultry merchants in Europe. Very satisfied customer.keep the good work up.
