My son and his girlfriend booked this place for last night. They prepaid £70+ and spent over an hour travelling there from York and getting caught up in traffic. Upon arrival there was no one to greet them. The phone number rang out and finally went to voicemail. The door was locked and scaffolding surrounded the building. My son and his girlfriend had to sleep in their car as there were no vacancies anywhere. This 'business' is a scam. DO NOT BOOK THERE.

Rooms: The rooms are disgusting wouldn’t even bother booking they don’t clean the rooms, they can’t provide a fixed bed and the service is terrible. I have never been so disgusted with a room in my life. Not worth the money 😡🤬 Rooms : 1/5 | Service : 1/5 | Location : 1/5 … More

Could not gain access to the property to even get to the reception, let alone the room that had been booked and paid for with a "no-refund" sign. Proceeded to ring the number that was stated for the property and was called many names including c**t!! I came away shocked around an hour after I'd first got there. Stay away!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. When I arrived and followed the instructions as per a received text, I then called as instructed only to be told the number was diverting and then to cut off. No response for an hour, in which time u sorted myself out somewhere for me and my pregnant wife to stay for the night. So really disappointed with this particular hotel, to me that us unacceptable behaviour. So zero or even minus stars for minster garth hotel

Three of us arrived after cycling 74 miles to find a group of people outside trying to contact the owner to get in as nobody was in the building. He was not answering the phone, despite signs all over the building saying call the number to get into the rooms. Eventually the cleaner let us in. The family room we had booked had been let to someone else so we had a twin room for 3 guys. One of us had to sleep on the floor. Really poor experience and no sign of the owner. Wish we'd read the reviews and booked elsewhere!!

Couldn't stay here as the room I was in filled with smoke in the early hours. AVOID THIS PROPERTY as its NOT SAFE. Fire brigade out in the middle of the night for a drunken owner burning paper in a fireplace that had a blocked flue completely irresponsible

Stayed here easter weekend, no complaints at all. Paid £78 for 4 adults sharing a room. Upon arrival was quickly welcomed by the owner who was very polite and showed us to our room which had just been finished being cleaned. Room smelt and looked fresh and clean. Flat screen tv with freeview which worked fine, leaflet in room with details for logging onto the WiFi which also worked fine. Was asked if we required a parking permit on arrival but had arrived in Beverley earlier in the day so had already sorted parking out but was nice to have the option if we wanted it. Had no complaints what so ever got exactly what we'd expect for the price paid and would happily stay again next time we visit Beverley. Walkability: Perfect walking distance of restaurants pubs etc in the town centre.

Before arrival i was given instructions to text a telephone number with my details so someone could meet me at the door and check me in. Arrived at the property to check in and there were no staff at all anywhere. Luckily another customer was coming out of the door and let me inside. I managed to find a young man left in charge, who did not know what he was doing and was clearly drunk. I asked him about getting a parking permit for my car but he could not help me, I then asked what was I supposed to do about parking then and he just shrugged his shoulders. He stated that Jon normally sorts that out but is not in. I tried calling Jon (the owner) but phone is off and does not reply to texts. Entry was gained into my room which was number 1. The room smelt of cigarettes and clearly had dirty bed sheets and duvet. The bathroom room was filthy and draws were filled with items such as screws and other DIY stuff. Do not stay at the place, the rooms are awful and the owner is clearly incompetent. Oh and iv recently seen he is due in crown court for falsifying reviews and star ratings. Don't waste your money here.
