(Translated by Google) A fairly good and very well maintained and very well organized campsite. You should definitely reserve in advance. We recommend membership in the Camping Club. It paid for itself after 3 days with 2 people. The plots are separated from each other by small hedges and are quite large. However, why no awning is allowed on the "blue" pitches, and on the "white" ones, that is not clear to me, as all pitches are more or less the same. The sanitary area is good, for English standards also very good. Otherwise there is everything you need regarding disposal and supply. Electricity is included the quite expensive price. 1 motorhome with 2 adults at the end of May 23 costs £46/day. A £12 club discount already included. Without it it would have been £58, still €63 (!!) The staff is super friendly. Incidentally, it is forbidden here (and this applies to all club pitches in this club) to use cable drums with a euro adapter. A Euro to Euro cable MUST be used. Can be purchased at reception for £42 if necessary. You must leave by 11:15 a.m. at the latest. I definitely recommend this campsite, also because of the proximity to the city, but only give 4 stars because of the high price. Man sollte vorher unbedingt reservieren. Ansonsten gibt es alles, was man braucht bzgl.

Google treats this campsite like a hotel with stars for "rooms" and "service", where there is none. To the point; great location however, the basic plots are minute and crammed together, the wi-fi is unusable, even when everyone else is asleep and the cost is now unacceptable - at the time of today's stay - the Travelodge, in the very centre of town, is cheaper. Work that out

As a semi-urban site this is very good. The thing that makes it so good is the proximity to York centre, being a short walk away. The site is relatively flat and mostly gravel with tarmac road ways. There are small hedges separating some of the pitches. The reception, toilets, showers, washing up and information areas are in a raised, flood proof (?) block. The site is adjacent to the river and is subject to flooding - there is a stack of cocoa bean rollers (from the Cadbury factory originally on this site) outside reception with recent flood levels marked on them. It's obvious from these (and the flood barriers on streets near to the river) that there will be occasions when the site is closed as a result of flooding. The people managing the site are friendly and helpful and they maintain everything really well - the facilities are clean and in good repair and the site itself is also clean with trimmed hedges and pitches that are weed free. This is a site that we will definitely return to as York is a great destination at anytime of year - lots of interesting history, restaurants and pubs and a good selection of shops if you are in need of retail therapy.
