We went as a group of 6 for a family catch up. The table had been reserved in advance but on arrival we had to wait for it to be cleared and laid up. Drinks order was fine. In our group we had 1 vegetarian and 1 gluten free, the tablet for GF hadn't been updated so didn't show starters. I requested just the baked camembert with raw vegetables, they were able to provide GF bread too. Th cucumber was sliced so thinly it couldn't be dipped in the cheese. Mains were tasty but the orders were mixed up with the wrong potatoes on the pies, no apology but offered a bowl of baked potatoes. Service was OK but having eaten in several Chef and Brewer pubs not the best, we were not made aware of the specials board and no checking during the meal. Facilities and environment were good but unfortunately it felt as if serving staff would rather be elsewhere. I will give it another try in the future just to see how things are then as everyone deserves a second chance.

Only drank this time, pleasant service and environment. Just had roast lunch. The but and mushroom Wellington was very poor. Used to be excellent, now mostly pasty, few bits of mushroom and no sign of any nuts. Won't get it again.

I loved the yew tree food it was delicious I would definitely come here again but my child had the kids burger and it is a bit small but still filled him up but it was still scrumptious!

After our last experience towards the end of last year was worried about going back but had vouchers to use. Thankfully since my last visit management and staff has changed and for sure service and food has improved alot. had a lovely 3 course meal with 2 kids and was in and out in under 1.5hours. If I was to be picky the only constructive feedback would be the yorkshire puddings where over done (same happened with the table next to us). Hopefully will be back again soon. Marc
