Amazing food, fast service. We ordered har gau, stir-fried scallops and prawns with steamed jasmine rice on the side, and the classic steamed dim sum, which had 2 pieces from 4 different types of dim sum. I would like to thank Nicole for her recommendations and service.

Great food and atmosphere. I'd give the szechuan xiao long bao a miss, but the prawn cheung fun, the chicken & prawn chive dumpling, and mooli cakes are must haves/orders! The low score is due to their reservation system. When you make a reservation, you have to pay a £50 / per person holding deposit, which shoudl be adjusted into your final bill (I called and confirmed this fact, and the restaurant records its calls, as you're informed when you call). The reservation was for Saturday dinner. The next day (Sunday) after a very nice dinner, I realized we had been charged full price on our bill and our deposit had not been adjusted into the final price. When I called to check this, the manager informed "they processed the refund yesterday, instead of adjusting the bill. It will take 5 to 10 working days for the refund to be processed". I felt this was unfair and the manager told me "look, I don't want to argue with you and I'll check the recording to see what my colleague may or may not have told you". In the middle of times like these, for a restaurant to hold on to your cash like this is really inappropriate. Add to the fact the manager claimed the refund was processed yesterday (Saturday) and it will take "5 to 10 working days" for it go through, I got a notification from my bank 3 minutes after the phone call saying the refund had been processed. This is either one hell of a coincidence or they simply forgot about the refund until I called them on it. Either way, the amount of poor communication, passive aggressive managers, and goof ups is a definite blemish for the owners, Hakkasan, who have supposed Michelin stars elsewhere in the world.

The food was nice and bar staff were lovely, however the front of house / hostesses were stuck up and to put it bluntly, quite rude. Ironic, considering they are the first people you see as you enter, so should make you feel the most welcome. For me, a restaurant isn’t just about the food but also about the atmosphere, so based on that I wouldn’t come back or recommend to anyone else as you would get better service from thousands of other places and staff who don’t think they’re above everyone. A word of advice - treat every customer the same and don’t look down your nose on certain customers based on your own prejudice / discriminatory views.

Noodles were excellent. Otherwise, I think the place is a bit overrated.
