Our family had to reluctantly have my wife's Mom, Ruth D'Oyly admitted to a care home, after looking at a few care homes we came across Yardley Grange Care Home, Birmingham, on walking through the door we found this care home so homely and the staff were so welcoming, friendly and offered my Mother in law a room within two days, within a week of my wife Mom moving into Yardley Grange we found a total difference in her health and well being, she was alert. smiling, alert and eating well, and the level of friendliness and care of the staff is fantastic, her room was homely and comfortable and the staff allowed us to stay as long as we wanted and we could eat there as well. I fully would recommend this care home for the friendliness and care of all the staff working there, the food is fantastic and the ambiance of the home is very welcoming and friendly and I would fully recommend this care home, but not only that it is in the ancient village of Yardley in Birmingham giving it a feeling of being in the country side.

My Mother has been here for a a few months now, and for nearly a £1000 a week, it is just not good enough. , for many weeks antibacterial hand cleanser machines, we're empty. If you are male the visitor toilet seat has to be held up with one hand, whilst you urinate, their response is "sit down then" There are facilities for visitors to make a drink, but there has never been any washing up liquid to clean your cup. I questioned this, their response was, "there is hand soap by the sink". In my mothers toilet there was a discarded catheter tube, dripping with some sort of liquid, this was resting on top of a seat pad for a wheelchair. My mother has just told me that she asked 3 different people for water, squash, and tea,, all 3 forgot. My belief is that some of the staff have become complacent and forget that people are paying nearly £1000 a week to live there and need to raise their game. Don't get me wrong, there are far worse homes out there, but I have seen much better too. Standards need to be raised.
