FAQ

What is the daily schedule like for those living in the convent?

Our convent is a place of prayer and contemplation, and as such, our daily schedule is centered around our spiritual practices. We wake up early in the morning, attend mass, and spend the rest of the day in prayer, study, and work. We also take part in community meals and have some time for rest and relaxation.

Are visitors allowed to stay overnight or for a few days?

We welcome visitors who are interested in learning more about our way of life and spirituality. However, as a contemplative community, we do not offer overnight accommodations or extended stays. Visitors are welcome to attend our services and spend time with us during the day, but we ask that they respect our prayer times and the quiet nature of our community.

What type of religious practice or service is offered at the convent?

As a Catholic convent, we follow the liturgical calendar and offer daily mass, morning and evening prayer, and other religious services throughout the year. We also engage in personal and communal prayer, spiritual reading, and other forms of contemplative practice.

Are there any specific rules or guidelines that guests must follow while on the premises?

Yes, we ask that guests respect our way of life and the quiet nature of our community. This includes refraining from loud conversations or activities, dressing modestly, and observing our prayer times. We also ask that visitors do not take photographs or record audio or video while on the premises.

What inspired the creation of this particular convent and its mission?

Our convent was founded by a group of women who felt called to dedicate their lives to God through a contemplative way of life. Our mission is to deepen our relationship with God through prayer, study, and work, and to offer spiritual support and guidance to others who seek it. We draw inspiration from the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.

I have worked at Wrottesley park for 6 years, having progressed from care assistant to wellbeing coordinator. The home is continually changing and improving in all areas. The atmosphere in our home is light, fun, full of smiles and laughter and a real home from home for staff (many of whom have worked here for many years and have great relationships with our service users) and residents a like. Some of the reviews on Google do not reflect Wrottesley park as a home and I would encourage anybody to take advantage of our open door policy and come and have a look round for yourself ☺️ Management are fantastic, approachable and supportive and encourage a skilled workforce with regular training, nvq qualification opportunities and plenty of opportunities to progress in your career, as well as there being an excellent support packages in place for all staff. Wrottesley park is a lovely place to work and I believe our residents are supported fully in living the most fulfilled and happy life as possible, by our well-being team, kitchen staff, domestics, physio assistant, care staff and management ☺️

Absolute discusting managerial staff. I was telephoned by disabled brother, a resident, in tears as staff would not assist him to get in wheelchair to watch fireworks display outside. This follows a complaint by myself to CQC over historical issues. I rang and was answered by manager tonight, 5/11/19 to enquire and was met with the most rude, uncaring, unprofessional, patronising attitude imaginable. One would not expect this from a trainee nevermind those in a managerial position. The company that employs this kind of staff needs to address this failing within their employees. I feel for those who cannot speak out
