Mark Clifford
Worsley New Hall was built for the 1st Earl of Ellesmere between 1840 and 1845. A Gothic-style mansion with formal landscaped gardens that was comparable with any of the mansions of the nobility in the north of England. It cost just under £100,000 to build - the equivalent of around £6.7 million today. Located on the north side of the mansion within the grounds was its very own fire station. Today all that remains is a concrete structure, presumably where the fire truck was housed and water pipes to the side.
