Summary: Attended a funeral here recently and aside from the staff I overall was not very impressed with the cemetery. There are better quality and more Islamically compliant alternatives out there with far better surroundings, where graves are maintained consistently and equally. Staff Friendly, approachable and seem to be doing their job well. Grounds Overall, quite crowded and car parking is very limited though there is overflow available for around 20 extra vehicles. Walking around the site after the funeral, some parts feel like a jungle and others a little more tidier. Note that there is a small road that encircles parts of the cemetery but there is only space for one vehicle at a time and 'curbing' cars is quite common as I observed. Graves Sadly, because the responsibility of maintaining the grave is on the relatives of the deceased, many are not maintained (at all) and it seems the cemetery management (for whatever reason) have not given the site a consistent cleanup. There is so much plant overgrowth in some parts it's quite disturbing and it isn't, imho, the way a cemetery should be maintained. Mixed site for Christian's and Muslims Observers of the Islamic faith should be aware that this is a mixed site and though the land for different religions seems separated either by shrubs or a path or internal road, it is a generally held scholarly opinion based on sound evidence that a deceased Muslim should be buried in a cemetery that is exclusively for Muslims UNLESS there is no option available at the time. In the case of London in the current era, there are plenty of Muslim-only cemeteries which actually cater for the community in a much more religiously aligned way than cemeteries like Woodgrange. If you have a choice, I wouldn't advise burying a Muslim relative here for the sake of your "convenience" in terms of proximity to the grave. For those wise enough to have a Will, consider stipulating this in your Will just incase someone decides otherwise when you pass away.

There used to be many benefits (late night opening on special Islamic nights) for Muslims to use this cemetery over Gardens of Peace but post Covid they have removed those. I would strongly, STRONGLY advise Muslims to use Gardens of Peace, even if you are local to this one. The current management are ok but blind to suggestions and ideas.

This used to be a very neglected cemetery under the previous superintendent Mr W bufton this guy was full of bigotry and had very racist traits in him just go to his social media you'll see it all. Thank god he retired and now it has fairly new people who have good interpersonal skills and know how to talk to people. Before the management were more dead than the people of the graveyard. Day and night difference now hopefully gets better and better

An historical grave. With graves going back to WW1. My father is buried here. I visit every week. Recently Eddie did my fathers grave up. Put borders around the grave etc. generally made it look not neglected. Eddie did a wonderful job. He was very helpful when I first contacted him winter last year. This cemetery is unusual in that there is a diversity of faiths buried here. Muslim Christian alike. Coming here makes you realise that in the end we are all going to the same place. Shame we cannot live in peace in the real world as we lie peacefully in our graves. Irrespective of creed or colour.
