A wonderful open space surrounds this picturesque ruin. The ruined house and impressive fountain are looked after by English Heritage. We took a tour of the ruin with a volunteer guide, which was excellent, and enjoyed a tea at the tea room next door. I would like to see more benches available for those of us who need them. There are only two in the main viewing area shown in my photo and a third that is further off up a slope. I understand there are picnic benches nearer the entrance to the site.
