One night stay. We booked a midweek package stay, which included dinner bed and breakfast. As you can have a dog friendly room,we took our two dogs with us. The room leads on from the car park. Which was lovely with quite a spacious bathroom. At night, it was that quiet you could have heard a pin drop. It's well worth booking a room if you are dining in the restaurant for dinner as there's no driving home. The continental breakfast is served in the main building across the courtyard. A pleasant stay in a very tranquil village with plenty of nice walks nearby. Review helpful please like 👍 follow thanks. Rooms: Clean

Guys Who Dine
Dinner Immersive and interactive dining. This has been on our list for quite some time, but we finally made it. A whole new dining experience has been created to bring customers closer to the action of the kitchen. Which is something we look for, as it's not just about the exquisite food. On arrival, you are seated in the lounge and served snacks with your pre-dinner drinks. Then you are taken through to the kitchen where Gareth Bartram served us a lovage Broth. Once seated in the all New restaurant space, the experience begins. It's great to see the chefs interact with the diners and show their passion for what they have created. Local produce is featured very strongly in their menus. Could not possibly pick a favourite dish. Every mouthful was delightful, and the service impeccable.

The food at Winteringham Fields was great. The service was too. The decor could do with a little updating, for me personally I found the atmosphere a little stuffy, like everyone was on their best behaviour but not in an elegant way in a slightly uncomfortable way. It definitely wasn’t the feel we were hoping for on a Saturday night. None the less the food was exceptional, we ended up having drinks with a couple on a table next to us and swapped numbers at the end of the evening. That night both of us were very sick, we got in touch with the other couple to see if they were and one of them had also been up vomiting all night. We contacted WF to let them know, assuming they would be keen to find out where the offending item that had given their customers food poisoning had come from and we didn’t hear anything back for almost 2 months. At which point we got an email not really a dressing the situation at all and instead offering us 50% off one of their hotel rooms if we went back in and took their tasting menu again. We didn’t take them up on their offer 😂🙈. Definitely an older place. As a younger couple (and I mean under 40 not super young) we would definitely prefer to go somewhere with more life and creativity when eating out somewhere of tjis calibre. More suited to a more traditional crowd (if they sort their food poisoning issue out obviously).

I visited Winteringham Fields with my family for a special occasion on a Wednesday evening. Having visited WF before, we had high expectations having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit, however unfortunately, we were left feeling underwhelmed. We had the tasting menu and whilst a few dishes were exceptional, most didn’t taste/look like we were dining at a Michelin star restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful however basic things such as taking our coats and clearing empty glasses from the table did not happen. I’m not usually one to write a review and my mum didn’t want to make a fuss as she has already written to WF to share her feelings, however she received a standard ‘I'm sorry about your experience response’ . Therefore as we were paying in excess of £200 a head including the wine flight, I felt like I had to say something. My family expected more on our visit and we were left feeling disappointed. We will not be returning in a rush.
