We haven't been here because of covid as its been closed. It has now re-opened and changed. You use to pay for your car if parked in car park and was included with your bus ticket, the Q code on the ticket then let you out of the car park. Now you must enter your car reg at the machine by the bus stop, this machine is not a general car parking machine it's for park and ride. If you don't you Will get a parking ticket. This also applies to concessionary passes. There are a couple of notices but not very explanatory, the bus driver did not say about the changes. The website only states the old requirements. Surely the first thing is to update the website and to make it very clear to the public and educate the drivers. I found out as I questioned a parking attendant, as there were quite a number of penalty tickets issued. If you have been caught, then check with Wokingham Borough Council 1st and explain your situation. As unfortunately the car park is also for the trains, they pay a different rate.

It's a park and ride. You park up and you ride the bus. Not much to go wrong really! Though for some who've never used such a service, I think the paying instructions could be clearer. Especially as the car park is so huge. You can't help but worry whether you need to walk back to the car and shove something in the windscreen!
