A rare surviving Grade 2 listed Georgian Bath House, a great shame it is not open as it would have been great to see the interior. It sits in the Jubilee Gardens on the river bank. The gardens are well tended and have good benches. It is a peaceful spot to sit and admire the view. Apparently the lower floor has a sunken bath fed by a spring. The bath measures 1.5 metres in depth by 2.4 by 3.7 metres. Bath houses fell out of fashion and this building didn't get its listed status until 1990. It was after that the roof tiles were stolen, resulting in a rapid deterioration of the structure. The Civic Society aided in its restoration. Wetherby Town Council now has the care of the Bath House and Gardens. Maybe one day it will reopen....

A pretty little bathhouse complete with cold water plunge pool. Its only small, but beautifully set on the banks on the river Wharfe. The bathhouse is surrounded by plants and greenery which provide a pleasant and peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of Wetherby town. A nice place to eat your lunch on a sunny day.
