  Excellent boat hire company. The boats themselves were cool to drive on the lake, we had the pink lady so noticeable boats. Was a hot day and the air was flowing through nicely the views were just fabulous and we used half accelerator to Potter around belle Isle. What a fabulous hour on the lake and the kids loved it when we drove into larger boats wash for a rocky adventure. Staff in the kiosk and on the Jetty were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you come to the lakes you must go out on the lake.

  Following what was a convincing sales pitch, I made a booking with them for two hours. They gave me a boat with 2 bars of battery left in it. On asking and calling several times before starting and while in the middle of the lake, they kept saying that the boat would last for the whole booking. 4 miles into the lake the battery is on the very last bar about to die. The boat suddenly slowed down a lot and I ended up returning back, thankfully without being towed. On complaining after the booking, the boy at the counter very kindly agreed to issue a refund for the last hour. This was on the 8th of September. He couldn’t guarantee when I would receive my refund. Therefore, I tried to call the mobile number given, nobody answered the phone so I sent a message on the 12th of September to which I got a reply saying that the money would reflect in my account the following Thursday as it takes 3-5 working days. On the 21st of September I tried to call a couple of times, again nobody answered the phone so I sent another follow up message to which whoever replied said they would speak to their accountant regarding this matter. Not a word from this individual so having learned my lesson I texted on 26th of September requesting for an update. Got a reply next day with a “sorry nobody has been picking up the phone” and saying that my details had been passed on to the accountant to chase it up for me and I would be informed as soon as this so called accountant responded. Yesterday 5th of October I lost my patience and sent them another message asking for an exact date by which I would receive my money rather than these fake updates otherwise I would have to take this matter further and my messages have probably been ignored. I have probably made a huge mistake by booking with this company, however, I hope this review is helpful for those reading. I would strongly advise against booking with this company to save you the misery of dealing with a headache and ruining your day out at the lake. There are many other companies you can book with who would be more helpful cooperative than this lot. Giving one star because that’s the lowest, however, wouldn’t even give that if there was an option.

  when does £20 an hour to rent a boat actually mean £25 an hour to rent a boat. When you book with this company. Bit of a rip off. Not many principles and false advertising.
