I can only recommend Charlie’s classes, he is very knowledgeable and patient and makes sure everyone understands the details of a drill. I have never done martial arts before and I was looking for some local self defence classes - Wing Chun Kung Fu exceeded my expectations! Charlie and the team helped me build up my skills and confidence, it is a great way to step outside of my conform zone.

Although I only trained at Winchester wing chun for a few months my experience there was outstanding, sifu charlie is an exceptional martial artist and teacher, he shows such enthusiasm and passion for the art aswell as the students progression and makes you feel so welcome and part of the team. I only stopped due to work commitments and later injuries that kept me from training, I would highly recommend Winchester wing chun to anyone interested in learning a functional martial art in a friendly environment under an outstanding instructor , whether you are experienced or totally new to the martial arts , sifu Charlie will share his outstanding knowledge and welcome you to his classes.

After wanting to begin to learn Wing Chun for some time I finally took the plunge and attended my first class back in November 2022, and needless to say it was incredible. I was instantly drawn in by Sifu Charlies teaching style and his depth of knowledge on the subject. His drive to work with you until you get every technique right is outstanding, and when you do get it right you feel absolute boss! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming which really did ease my nerves the first time round. Now I just look forward to the next session. Safe to say I will be at Winchester Wing Chun Kung Fu for the foreseeable future and hope to learn so much more whilst perfecting what I have already learnt. Thank you again Sifu Charlie and the rest of the gang for being so brilliant!

I’ve done kung-fu again in the past and what I particularly like about Charlie is how excited he gets every time we get something right. Charlie is determined for each and every one of us to learn and has a deep understanding of every technique and its use and purpose, and he will patiently explain the same thing differently to different people to make sure we all get it. And the team have all been very nice and supportive too. I feel very lucky to have found this class and teacher, I would definitely recommend it.

Awesome classes been going for nearly a month and every bruise has been worth it. It’s a little different than what I expected, but, adjusting to the pace of the lessons has been fun. There is strength in the subtlety of a small adjustment in arm positioning, it has made me realise that muscles aren’t everything. They just help if you get something right.
