FAQ

What type of choir do you have and what is the style of music that is typically performed?

We have a community choir that welcomes anyone who loves to sing. Our choir sings a wide variety of music, including classical, pop, jazz, and world music. We strive to provide a diverse and engaging repertoire for our members.

How often do you rehearse and perform, and what are the expectations for choir members?

We rehearse once a week for two hours during term time. We expect our members to attend rehearsals regularly and to practice at home. We typically perform two to three times per term, and we also participate in community events and festivals. We expect our members to be committed, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.

What is the cost to join the choir and are there any additional fees for performances or materials?

The cost to join the choir is £60 per term, or £150 for the year. This covers the cost of our musical director, accompanist, and rehearsal venue. There may be additional fees for performances or materials, such as sheet music or concert attire, but we try to keep these costs as low as possible.

What is the process for auditioning and joining the choir, and what level of experience is required?

We do not require auditions to join the choir. We welcome singers of all levels of experience, from beginners to seasoned performers. All you need is a love of singing and a willingness to learn. Simply come along to one of our rehearsals and see if you enjoy it. If you decide to join, you can register and pay online or in person.

Can you provide references or examples of past performances, and what type of venues does the choir typically perform in?

Yes, we have a website where you can find recordings and videos of our past performances. We have performed in a variety of venues, including churches, community halls, and outdoor spaces. We have also collaborated with other choirs, orchestras, and artists to create unique and memorable performances.

Love this group. Very friendly choir and great music to sing to. Newcomers are always welcome at the beginning of each term. We joined in Jan 23, and we have now 8x songs to practice, so not for the faint-hearted singer. But everyone should have a try if you love to sing.
