Have a fault with fridge freezer, rang up and they sent someone out. All polite and on time to be fair to them. The guy turned up and asked me to describe the sound the fridge was making as it doesn't happen constantly. Said the compressor had gone and it's too expensive to be worth fixing. If that's the case then fair enough but I can't believe he didn't even have a look at the fridge to check if anything was actually wrong rather than my impression of a broken fridge and then charge me £55. Feel like I've been conned.

Called about a fault on my fridge freezer, the shop explained that it was £45 initial charge and they could come out same day, great. Was at my house for 10 minutes, thought he'd fixed the problem and explained how, I was sceptical said the fault will return, and it did as he drove off. I then found the fault myself which was with an easily accessible part at the bottom of the freezer which I then ordered from Bosch, £10 delivered. The repairman was focused on the top of the fridge and told me if the fault returned I would need an expensive PCB, which it turns out wouldn't have solved the problem. Luckily I'm an electrician so have tools to do some digging, should've had a go at the start. £45 lighter for no particular reason. But it could've been much worse.
