Cannot fault the health care offered by the Whitstable health centre. Monday morning I was feeling so ill and had been like this for a few days. Rang the the surgery at 8.15am to be told a doctor will ring me for a telephone consultation. 8.20am doctor rang, had the consultation and asked if I could get to the surgery by 9am. Arrived on time, was seen told what was wrong what I need to do, home by 9.20am. March 3 years ago was told I need to see a knee consultant. April saw the consultant informed I need a replacement, August knee replaced. Recently cut a finger, went to Estuary view minor injuries as I could not stop the bleeding, in and out in 1 hour amazing. Everything about the health care is 1st class only ever found kind and courteous staff.

Reception staff are rude, consistently talking over the top, interupting and ignoring questions. Raised a formal complaint to reception manager and she was just as impolite and unhelpful. Shame really as GP's and nurses are all uber helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

I cannot believe the rudness of one of the reception staff here!! I spent 20 minutes filling in the online consultation form to be told at the end of it to contact someone. So I tried to change some of the answers so the form would go through but it still popped up contact the surgery. I contacted the surgery and told them this. The rude lady at reception said I should be able to fill in the online form, when I told her that I had tried the form twice and twice it told me to contact the surgery she just repeated 'you should be able to fill in the form online', basically saying I was lying about filling in the form!! This is not the first time we have had dealings with this rude woman.

I try to limit my interactions with the health clinic as have heard a variety of opinions about dealing with the staff here. But I was supposed to have a 24-hour blood pressure monitor on the day that the government imposed the first Lockdown; needless to say that for two years I did not have it. A couple of weeks ago, I stopped in and reminded the staff of this. I then received by text an appointment for 12.40 on a weekday - no consultation, no asking me to book the appointment myself for a convenient time for me, which would have been any time but noonish. I missed my bus from Canterbury, took another, realized I would be late-ish, so I called and told the operator; I also asked if I should reschedule. She asked how many minutes late I would be; I said around 10 - about 12.50 - and she said she would convey it to the staff. As it was, I arrived about 15 minutes late, went to reception who calculated it as 20 minutes - hmm - and said it was coming up to break time and she'd have to check with the staff. She came back to tell me that I would have to reschedule as the staff are "very busy at this time", when in fact there was nobody in the treatment waiting room. Surly, unhelpful, did not even bother to ask if I wanted to wait until a later free time - which I could have done, and would have done - and really do not seem to have the patient in mind, except for their own lack of patience. That's the front row staff; as for my doctor, he did not even remember about the BP monitor until I brought it to his attention. Dismaying and depressing.

I have no issues with my GP so long as I expect not to have a face 2 face appt. My issue is with my flu jab. I do not expect anyone to call across our car to tell me "we need to know your blood pressure". This is taking not seeing GP a step too far. I don't know this person, nurse or receptionist. But BP is 0 to do with a flu jab. I resent being asked if I have a monitor for bp and to send them readings. Not relevant in the circumstance
