We went to the museum today after walking past with our 18 month old. We had such a lovely time. My daughter is very energetic so was abit worried but she loved it and the staff were so friendly and so kind. They made us feel very welcome and my daughter loved it. We did some colouring, looking for sharks teeth and pressing lots of buttons. Definitely would go again. Many thanks to the volunteers!!

(Translated by Google) What a delightful little museum! The sight of whimsical English coastal architecture is very inviting and a visit is highly recommended! The small but not to be underestimated collection shows pretty much everything about the history of Whitstable and its surroundings. Of course, the descriptions are only in English, because the typical tourist tends not to get lost here. However, anyone who does not speak the language well can still get an idea thanks to the good presentation. The exhibits are of different types and include fishing, engineering, diving, seafaring and everyday objects. A special corner is of course dedicated to the memory of perhaps Whitstable's best-known residents: Peter Cushing, the legendary Frankenstein, Van Helsing, Sherlock Holmes and Grand Moff Tarkin. Beautiful, partly private photos and memorabilia delight the nostalgic film lover. Admission is currently only three pounds, but twice that wouldn't be too much. The on-site staff is extremely friendly and the reception is almost informal. You can buy a few well-assorted postcards of nostalgic-historical design, brochures, books and a few souvenirs.
