My husband has a head injury from being attacked with a machete. His mental health, memory and ability to comminucate has been severely effected by this. My husband rang the surgery to make an appointment over the phone but was rudely interrupted by a woman who told him that he had to complete a form online. My husband explained he was unable to do this but she was persistent and in the end he put the phone down. I called to make the appointment and was told that he would have to ring himself. After 20 minutes of arguing with this rude, unfeeling woman, she agreed to ask the GP to call him. My husband then explained that she says this each time he rings. I don't know what is wrong with this woman but if she doesn't like her job then she needs to leave as she is just unnecessary stress to something that should be easy to do. I have met this receptionist when attending the surgery and she looks absolutely miserable all the time and I really don't know how she gets away with speaking to people so rudely. I have requested that she doesn't deal with my husband in any manner other than getting someone else to ring him back if she answers the phone. This woman is aware of my husbands medical issues but will still ask what he's ringing for! This woman needs to either leave by her own choice or just be sacked due to being unprofessional to the vulnerable group of people that are seeking medical help, not to encounter rudeness or to be patrinised when already feeling unwell. You know who you are because even the other staff on reception don't like her because while waiting 20 minutes past my appointment time I could hear the 3 ladies talking about her moods and attitude towards them. Time to go lady!!

In the 15 years I've been with the place I've learnt 3 things, Dr Colligan (now retired) was very highly respected by me and everyone I know, top bloke. Dr Vickers (now retired) and some of the reception staff are not well liked for various reasons. I can't pass comment on the other Dr's. I'm now looking to move to a different Dr's, I've had enough of banging my head against wall with reception staff.

Staff are rude and abusive and do not know what they are doing. Caused my anxiety to worsen and I was only there for a blood pressure test.

(Translated by Google) To be honest, the doctor here is very good, very polite, and there is also a Hong Kong person working at the front desk, so you can ask her if you don’t understand English. Dr Amanda is very attentive, even if I can’t speak English well, she Also very patient to explain 😊 also very gentle thank you Dr Amanda😚 (Original) 真的要老實說,這裏的醫生挺好的,非常之有禮貌,而且前台也有一位香港人工作,所以不懂英文的也可以問她,Dr Amanda非常細心,就算我英文說得不好她也非常耐心解說😊也很温柔thank you Dr Amanda😚

Firstly, I cannot comphrehend how Whitley Road Surgery has bad reviews, I am in utter shock. From my only personal experience I have been at this surgery since I was born 27 years ago. As a frequent user of the doctors surgery, they have been nothing but gentle, professional and calm with myself. I want to thank Dr Gordon, Dr Myerscough, Dr Mansoor, they are all very lovely human beings, caring and you can tell by how they speak to you that they care deeply about their profession and helping others. This is important when working in a role like this dealing with peoples health. I also want to thank Karen and all those behind the reception desk, especially the young gentleman who goes out of his way to ensure you have everything in place and always gives a warm welcome. The online triage form is easy to use (I am dyslexic and if I ever have any problems I just ring up, always waiting under a minute for the phone to be answered. I appreciate Whitley road and all whom work there, I feel as if they deserve more recognition. I always go out of my way to ring up and leave good reviews on experiences with doctors. Whitley road are a god-send. The help and support I’ve been given is untrue and I have them to thank for it! Thank you Whitley road.
