    Simple - working with Chris, Julia and their colleagues at whitefox was the best professional decision I've ever made in anything to do with my writing. Editing text, selecting photographs and every aspect of the visuals could easily have become a battleground, but ever once did I feel they'd dropped the ball. Four beautifully presented volumes arrived on time. Awful of me to boast, but when I saw them for the first time, my first thought was - wow: these look good. I was also financing the project, so had a healthy terror of costs and of ending up in the poorhouse. But they were accessible and communicative and stayed on budget, which meant the whole caboosh never looked like running out of control. When it come to post-production, they managed matters so that sales were optimal and customers went away happy. Both of those really mattered. Honestly, I cannot speak of them too highly.

    I suspect my experience with Whitefox was typical. I had driven the hard route from Beijing to Paris on the Peking to Paris Endurance rally in a Bentley saloon and the story was worth telling. Equally it was hardly worth trying to get the mainstream publishers to distribute the story, since they don't really know the market. My literary agent recommended Whitefox and I was delighted with their work, particularly the brilliant cover design. We even managed to get the book published by Christmas. The book has sold well and is still doing so.
