My dad has terminal cancer. Initially dad was resistant to carers coming in as he was very independent. These carers worked with him and gained his trust. The care has been outstanding. All the carers are professional and compassionate. All I want to say to the carers is... you are amazing and thank you for your help I dont think I wouldve got through

i have personally used there service for 4 months and couldn't have coped with the demand of my elderly father without there help. the reviews below i cannot express are untrue as if i hadn't of done all my checks before i definatly wouldn't use them. i Smell a Rat to be honest.

Having started work at Westwood Homecare 2yrs ago under the previous director, whom I have worked for and known for 11yrs, Westwood was an excellent care provider, with one of the most dedicated and caring workforces I have ever worked with in my 20+yr career in the care industry, there was never a call not covered, when necessary the owner covered it herself, that's commitment to the Workforce, Clients and Company ! Early last year (April/17) the Director retired, very sad day for the workforce and Company, and the new director Mrs Michelle Sharif took charge, after only a few weeks our manager suddenly left, the new director told the workforce he had left the company and destroyed files etc and a whole host of stories, we were to find out this would be a taste of what was to come, the workforce pulled together with the management to keep everything in place, carer's were doing long days, then we got a new manager, the director went on holiday, Oh my ! Things went frm bad to worse for the carers working 12-14hr shifts for 2 weeks at a time, with no day off, and being asked to do more, management calling carers lazy *******for saying no, clients & carers left, calls weren't covered, the hardy few that remained did our very best for the clients, then again the manager resigned, and we heard from Michelle how he had messed everything up carers files etc and so on and on and on, we've been here before, blame game because she didn't have a clue herself, mmm ! Then assistant manager took over the position of registered manager, Hallelujah someone who knew what they were doing, and how to treat their carers, things were looking up for us and the company, he was great at his job, and we all respected him, he didn't lie to us, unfortunately he left after a few months, this came as a shock, we knew something serious had happened for him to just resign out of the blue and another office member left the same Wknd, we were told that they had destroyed personal/client files and other STORIES which we knew were untrue, it was a couple of weeks after I too could not turn a blind eye to the things that were happening and tendered my resignation (6/3/18) along with another 2 carers, none of us got our full pay, one carer was £300 short, she did get £200 back. I have written this because of some of the reviews above, sick of the lies when will these people stop lying, the director told another carer to tell us she would get us all back, the people that resigned that is, whatever that means !? Gemma Kennedy.............Gemma Kennedy started work for Westwood earlier this year, her review is dated 5 months ago, I left 3 months ago after 2yrs, and no point within that period have Westwood cared for Gemma's father, you do the math !??????? The next review is by......... Naheem Sharif......this gentleman is the directors 19 year old son, and is laughable to say Westwood carers have ever cared for Mr & Mrs Sharif parents, well not within the last 2 years up to 6/3/18, who would you get a failing care company to look after your parents, look at CQC Reports, would you !? Mrs Sharif and her lack of Humanity & Empathy ruined Westwood !
