Very poor standards of care received by my mother during her one month stay before her death . Despite following a very lengthy complaints procedure, involving CQC which resulted in a downgrading of one care home from Outstanding to Requires Improvement , and Leeds City Council Safeguarding review which gave a lengthy list of areas of concern- the management and directors of Westward Care have still failed to respond in an appropriate manner- key staff leaving their management roles rather than attend crucial fact finding meetings and address the serious issues of concern eg Lasting Power of Attorney for health and well being known about but ignored, no record of what happened to our mother in her final 3 hours despite a ‘full investigation’. Westward Care stop hiding behind the apparent awards and learn to accept responsibilities for the mistakes that were made rather than allowing the very silly excuses to continue eg her record shows very good eyesight on one page, very poor on another - excuse ‘ eyesight is I used for different purposes People make mistakes - the danger comes when they are not accepted and covered up by those in management positions.
