Food and service was completely faultless. The polenta, green beans, mussels, John Dory and cuttlefish were all absolutely delicious. Really love the single dish out at a time style too. However, the communal seating let’s the place down - especially as the tables are so crammed together so you’re bashing elbows with not only your partner but also the stranger next to you and the person behind you. My legs were in pain from having to crush them up into my partners chair the whole time. Also had the server (no fault of their own just the lack of space) hitting me in the head with plates constantly. If you were a big group it would probably be very fun, but as a duo I really don’t want to be involved in 6 other peoples conversations - everyone just looks awkward and uncomfortably sat. We’d love to come back to try more dishes on the ever changing menu, but sadly the seating experience just isn’t for us.

I was really excited to try this restaurant after hearing amazing reviews but unfortunately it do not live up to expectations for me. The main we chose - the red mullet - didn’t come with much sauce & I did not realise none of the fish is cleaned of bones before serving (maybe my mistake for not realising) however this ruined the dish for me as I found the exercise of picking out all the small bones quite tedious and unenjoyable. In one of the smaller plates - the cod with peppers- i found the peppers lacked flavour. In fact my favourite dish was actually the carrot salad which had lots of different elements, but at £10 for a small portion of grated carrot it did not feel worth it. The staff were lovely & the restaurant itself is very beautiful, making the terrace a beautiful spot for an evening drink. Perhaps we were unlucky & came on a day where the menu wasn’t best suited to us, but overall I did not enjoy the plates we tried.

the breaded chicken liver is one of the best dishes I have ever had, if you have the chance to eat here you should definitely take it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the communal table setup as we were sat in the corner by the bar and constantly had people walking behind and around us. When we sat down I said hello to the people sitting next to us and got no response. Its a bit strange really to have a communal table setup without any shared conversation. If this place just had normal seating arrangements then it would be a 10/10 for me. As it is now I’d go 8-9/10 or 4/5 on google. The vermouth spritz was so weak I did have to ask them to double it up and I was happy to pay extra to make it drinkable. The grenache glass of wine was excellent paired with the breaded chicken liver and the ox cheek. All of the food was stellar and our server was very friendly and kind as well.
