What a fabulous resource this Record Office is! The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and have assisted me many times over the years. I have journeyed all the way from Australia each time to visit the archive and it has always proven fruitful for my research.

They have a Car Park open to the Public on saturdays only. All day for £3 after 1400 is £2. Just a short 2 min walk into town. ... No longer!! Taken over by private contractor. Now an expensive carpark. Pay and display. Recommend car park at end of North street instead or market carpark.
