FAQ

What time periods and events do your reenactments cover?

Our reenactments cover the Anglo Saxon period, specifically the 5th-7th centuries. We portray everyday life of the Anglo Saxon people, including their homes, clothing, food, and crafts.

How are the reenactments historically accurate?

We take great care to ensure that our reenactments are as historically accurate as possible. We use primary sources such as archaeological finds, historical texts, and artwork to inform our interpretations. Our costumes, props, and buildings are all researched and designed to be true to the period.

What kind of costumes and props do you provide for participants?

We provide participants with costumes and props that are historically accurate for the Anglo Saxon period. This includes clothing, weapons, and household items. We also provide training on how to use these items safely and effectively.

Are participants allowed to bring their own costumes and props?

Participants are welcome to bring their own historically accurate costumes and props, but they must be approved by our staff before they can be used in the reenactment. We want to ensure that everything used in our events is appropriate for the time period and meets our safety standards.

How are safety and security ensured during the reenactment events?

Safety is our top priority during our reenactment events. We have trained staff on hand to ensure that all participants are using weapons and other props safely. We also have security measures in place to prevent any unauthorized access to the event area.

Interesting place for a quick family visit - the site itself with the museum takes around ~1.5-2hrs, so don't plan to spend there half of your day :) There's a spacious children playground, which doesn't require tickets - just a few pounds for parking
