My partner and I just completed our RYA Powerboat Level 2 course with West Solent Sea School. I can't recommend them highly enough. Our instructor, Tim, was friendly, patient and, most of all, highly knowledgeable. Not only does he know these waters like the back of his hand, he is also well connected with the local boating community. I can't fault the course in any way - practical and theory sessions were well executed and Tim was constantly reassuring. Very professional, laidback teaching style (that puts nerves at ease) and good fun all the way. Top marks!

Extremely knowledgeable and keen to share his skills and experience with us. I would highly recommend the course, the school and Tim as an instructor!

My daughter and I did the Powerboat Level 1 course with Tim. Having been a flying instructor in the RAF, I can say that Tim's teaching style was excellent. He was well prepared, and made sure that we learned, above all, the safety aspects of power boating. It was a great day out, and I now have the confidence to take a small power boat out into the Solent. Thanks Tim.

Tim is a great teacher, very engaging, fun and knowledgeable. As boating newbies Tim was very patient with us. It was a great help doing the course on our own boat so we could get to know how she handles and Tim explained all we needed to know about the boat too. His experience of the Keyhaven river and the Solent is invaluable too, and has helped us build up the confidence to charter a tricky piece of water!
