Very nice restaurant! Excellent food and view of seashore, sunset! The oyster is very fresh. It's my first time eating fresh oyster without any cooking. Never thought such fantastic tastes. The other seafoods are also very good. We arrived slightly late near closing, so we didn't book a table, just sit and order. I guess it might need a pre-book for popular hours. The only thing is that the car park is very small, for less than 10 cars. So if you are driving to the restaurant, make sure to find a place to park. We also take a walk after that. The sunset is so beautiful ! Best seafood experience ever ! Parking: Limited parking space in car park.

(Translated by Google) DISAPPOINTMENT! This word best describes my experience of visiting the Oyster Bar. No hot dishes and no interest in guests! This place after reopening is one huge NO! (Original) ROZCZAROWANIE! To słowo najlepiej opisuje moje wrażenia z wizyty w Oyster Bar. Brak ciepłych dań oraz brak zainteresowania gośćmi! To miejsce po ponownym otwarciu, to jeden ogromny BRAK!

Do not go here!! It’s noisy and overpriced and they sell average quality frozen fish. Worst still they hire and fire local youngsters from the island “at their whim” according to their seasonal needs by text (no less) and with a days notice. If that weren’t bad enough, those same children are then publicly humiliated and embarrassed months later when they go into collect and buy fresh fish platters that had been paid for which they have been purely sent to collect for elderly people in the village. Furthermore those children who only wanted to earn a decent wage are then banned from the restaurant. This is all factual and true whilst extremely unbelievable! Is this the kind of local business that you want to support? I do not. It’s run by a silly young girl as a manager who clearly cannot separate business from personal feelings and her parents and owners are encouraging this little princess rather than teaching her how to be a business woman. Unless there’s a local apology on Mersea locals by the manager and to the young girls and boys working there I would recommend that all locals and visitors steer clear of this morally corrupt eatery!

I was really disappointed with my seafood platter which was tasteless- defrosted seafood? You need to make sure you check the tides otherwise you arrive late and then get disappointed. The anticipation and hunger didn't help. Yes I should've said something and given them an opportunity to do something about it, but sometimes you just have a sense that it'll make no difference. Other people were tucking into their hot food v happily and my friend's chips were fab. I wouldn't try again tho.😔
