I used to attend West Kent Mind from about 2004 till I left a few years ago. I was a volunteer for seven years an a director for two years. It was good here, to be with people with similar problems, but all that seems to have changed since I left. About 2007 I paid a fee to become a life member, my mental health has deteriorated over the last couple of years and would like to come back to West Kent Mind which, as a life member I have every right to do so. But I’ve heard from the few still attending here, there’s virtually nothing left. Councillor JoHn London ( now deceased), founded West Kent Mind, or the Glendulop Centre as was called then, as he saw a need for a care centre to help local people with Mental Health problems. He will turn in his grave if he sees what has happened to his project.

Made a self referral for this back on November 2020.. today may 2021, I have my first offer of an appointment with 4 days notice. I heard nothing except for having an assessment, which left me very distressed.... I ended up going to "we are with you" which is a fantastic organisation and would recommend over mind. Leaving someone with mental health issues, and not even some form of contact to make me aware of the backlog for 6 months is not professional or acceptable.
