West Hill Park school was exactly what my son needed. In a nut shell my son has Autism, Dyspraxia and a Speech and Language disorder. In his old school my son had low self-esteem and was a shell of himself aged just 7! Within a day of being at West Hill Park, he was a different child. My son is happy, loving school and has made friends! West Hill Park offers a brilliant Learning Support Department including speech and language support. We struggled to find this in other local independent schools. West Hill Park were the only independent school who could meet my son’s needs. My youngest son has now joined his brother at WHP as he wanted to go to his brother’s school and I cannot get over the positive changes in him too! He can now read after just two weeks in school. West Hill Park is in a League of its own! It’s not a just a school!

I was lucky enough to go to this School for 10 years and would recommend it to anyone considering sending their child there. The grounds and setting are fantastic, the academic, sporting and musical opportunities are all amazing and enable each child to further their interests and become well rounded people. However, what is most important is the sense of a community within the school. There is a really strong bond between pupils and teachers and it always felt like there were people to support me if I needed help with anything. All in all I loved my time at West Hill Park and would strongly recommend it.

I have been a parent at West Hill Park for over 12 years and my 3 children have all loved their time there. My youngest is still at WHP and looks forward to going to school everyday. The facilities are amazing and the grounds always look perfect, but above all the teaching staff are wonderful (From Early years all the way up to Year 8). They take the time to get to know each child and help them to flourish as individuals. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend West Hill park. Our children have been very lucky to grow up here.

Very poor standard of schooling and communication, especially EYFS. Do not send your child here if they have a disability, our son who has a rare condition and is classed as disabled, was enrolled at nursery, but after a few months, we were told that he was not going to be offered a place in reception. This was due to the and i quote 'Not having the resources' to look after him and the unwillingness to create resources and reasonable adjustments help him progress. Our son is bright and is capable of what the majority of 4 years can do. The school have denied a capable child of furthering his education here. The EYFS leadership team, didn't do anything to help our son progress, nor take his disability in to account, one example is that he uses makaton to communicate, the staff didn't try to learn nor print simple pictures off to help him communicate with the staff, which left him sad and frustrated. He is an anxious boy, who has spent a lot of his early years in hospital, so he is reluctant to hold hands with people, on occasions they would force our son to hold hands with people to the point of tears! There is much more we can say about this school. They want the perfect child to fit into one certain box, they say they are championing a new way of learning called the curiosity approach, however this doesn't work for all children and when it doesn't they are made to feel different. In hindsight we would have never sent our son to this school, thankfully we have enrolled him into a local school, who have really taken him under their wing and he is excelling. Please think hard, if your child is 'different' in anyway, i would have second thoughts about sending them there. There is a lot of turnover of staff, with a lot of staff leaving. We are currently in the middle of a complaint to the ISI, which will hopefully help parents in our situation in the future.

As a family, we can certainly sing the praises of West Hill Park. Our two children are very happy there and having one child who started out very quiet and shy, we have seen them grow in confidence and blossom. All of the teachers are extremely supportive and encouraging and nothing is too much trouble. We are over the moon with West Hill Park and would highly recommend this amazing school to anyone who is considering sending their child there.

I was at West Hill in the early 1980s and have extremely fond memories of it as a really happy time. The setting is idyllic, the opportunities are numerous and the teachers are motivated and dedicated. It felt like a place where all sorts of different children would thrive - being stretched and challenged where appropriate but in a supportive environment. I would whole-heartedly recommend it.

My eldest child, Alfie, started at West Hill in Reception and is now at the end of year 6. We also have two other children at the school in year 4 and Reception. We have always felt so lucky to be able to send our children to this school, but the recent Corona virus pandemic has just brought that into focus even more. The online learning program that the school, put together has been so well done and beneficial to all three of the children. The hard work and commitment that the teachers showed throughout the whole lockdown period really went above and beyond, with many of the lessons delivered live via google classroom or accompanied by teacher videos with the opportunity to dial into the teacher during lesson time. The school reopened for the majority of pupils on Monday. As we drove down the driveway and through the various year group drop off zones, every single member of staff waved and smiled with genuine warmth and kindness. It felt like we were part of a real community. For these precious three weeks before the end of term, the children are able to go to a school where the staff are caring, fun, enthusiastic and hard working. It feels like such a positive place to be for the children after lockdown and for that we will be eternally grateful.
