Beckford is a fantastic school. We have a son in Yr3 at the moment who started in nursery and my daughter is now in secondary school but went to Beckford beforehand. The teaching staff are amazing, very experienced and very caring. It’s a really nurturing school that caters for children of all abilities. My son & daughter are both very different in their strengths and interests yet the school has met their individual needs brilliantly. The school also prepared my daughter for the transition to secondary very well. The school provides a great all round education with lots of opportunities to take part in excellent extra curricular activities. The nursery staff are absolutely gorgeous and they prepare the children really well so the transition to reception is easy for them. We feel very lucky to have the school on our doorstep.

All you people knocking this place should leave England. Your sense of natural entitlement is breathtakingly offensive to all reasonable people. Schools nowadays are expected to do far more things than they were set up to do and that’s all because of people like you - totally use the system and expect government to provide you with your standard of living. I went to Beckford in 1979 and I appreciate that was 40 years ago. Miss Abel was the headmistress. She was hardline, strict yet reasonable. She’d roast you whinging lot. No way any of you would have the bottle to take her on. Miss McGrory was my teacher and she was so kind to me on my first day. I came from another country, so I really was the new boy. Long live Beckford.

Kingsgate or Emanuel primary schools are much better than this school. Achievement in this school has been mediocre since the arrival of Ms Smith, the headteacher.
