Telephone system broken, management unable to solve it. What's the use of great doctors and great staff if you can't have bookings nor consultations done?!

Good doctors, rude reception staff - if you're going to insult a caller whilst chatting with a colleague, it is probably a good idea to put the caller on hold before doing so!

The appointment system for this practice is shocking. I have recently moved to the area. Long before requiring a new repeat prescription I a) I registered as a new patient following the guidance online and b) ensured that I called at 8.30am as told to book a consultation with a doctor to approve the prescription as, since I was a new patient, it was mandatory to do so. I called every morning for a week at 8.30 and the lines were busy until 9am, at which time I was told everyday that there were no appointments and to call back again tomorrow at 8.30. I have now run out of my medication, which could have been avoided. I appreciate that the practice are short staffed and dealing with medical emergencies. However, leaving me to now go without my medication creates a situation that could in itself lead to an emergency. If I had a choice, I would register with a different practice, but unfortunately this is the only one within my catchment area.
