If only I lived near here I would be applying for work. As long as the coal isn’t used to pollute the planet I’m not sure what the problem is. I would love to be a coal miner

The coal has a high sulphur content, to use it for coking coal and steel making would require abatement costs that will make UK steel too expensive to sell, even to make a Brexit minister's car. Best avoided.

Full support for this coal mine. People moaning and leaving a bad review are short sighted.

No point in mining coal and putting human lives at risk when we have much safer alternatives, from natural gas, to nuclear, to hydro, wind power and solar. And yes you can make high strength steel without coal, creating direct-reduced iron and using an electric arc furnace. Coal is the most dangerous and deadly form of energy production, lets leave it in the past where it belongs.

Excellent company one of few who should be funded and maintained instead of relying on other countries methods that would output 100's of times more the amount of negative envorimental impact..

It seems to me that very, very many people are not aware that steel is an alloy, basically of iron and carbon. Without a suitable source of carbon, such as good quality coking coal, you cannot make steel. Ironically, this carbon is locked in the steel and doesn't add to global warming - that is the stated purpose of this coal mine.
