An absolutely remarkable and outstanding exam centre with very kind and friendly staff. As an ex-candidate I can say with confidence how excellent the tuition in biology is. In covid I received teacher assessed grades, which was not a true representation of my abilities from my college experience. Wessex tutors took me in and helped me prove my actual capabilities. I now have A*AA in biology chemistry and maths. I would highly recommend Wessex tutors. organised perfectly by Mrs Jillian White who kindly supported me along the way.

I cannot recommend this exam centre highly enough. Jill and Tina are consummate professionals, passionate about providing an outstanding service for their students. Throughout the exam process (which my son and I were both completely new to), we were supported every step of the way and felt valued and listened to. Comms were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Huge thanks to Paty also for her superb Spanish lessons! I whole-heartedly endorse the Wessex Tutors team and will definitely use their services again.

The tutors that my daughter had for Maths and Chemistry were excellent. She went from a D and a B to two A*s. The tutors were engaging and helped to rekindle her interest in her subjects and regain the self confidence that she had lost at 6th form college. The success that she built every week, really helped her to believe in herself and her abilities again - and this has also extended into all areas of her life. Using Wessex tutors was a stretch for us, but it was an investment that was really well worth it. I can't thank them enough for all they have done.

My daughter has been a tutee of Gail from Wessex for A level Chemistry. During lockdown like most young people, my daughter was significantly impacted by the changes in teaching and learning. This resulted in a poor mock exam. We engaged Gail via Wessex - the outcome was an improvement of 4 grades. Regardless of grade outcome (which was positive) Gail regenerated my daughters faith in education when we thought we had lost her to lockdown. Gail's patience, kindness, commitment and understanding helped reignite my daughters interest in her education. As a result my daughter is now off to study her BSc in Marine Biology. As a parent I have been impressed with Wessex, their speed in which they were able to engage Gail, any parent enquiries were responded to with as much efficiency. Also as a parent I am eternally grateful to Gail for her hard work, and how she managed to recover my daughters hope in her education and help her to get back on track to her future. Biggest Hugest (if that is a word) thanks to Wessex and Gail also for helping restore my sanity as a parent.

Low quality of teaching in a run down building. My sociology tutor was unprofessional and often took weeks to return marked work. When I finally received feedback it would be muddled and difficult to understand. The lessons were often poorly structured and used badly written and formatted handouts which were often stained with coffee.

4.5 / 5 Overall I had a positive experience retaking my A levels with Wessex Tutors. Firstly the time at which I attended my lessons was mostly flexible. Next when there was an issue with my university application post results day the staff at Wessex Tutors were very helpful and efficient at resolving the issue, which I am very grateful for. Furthermore, there is a spare room to study in but unfortunately this room was in use sometimes meaning there was nowhere to study between lessons on these occasions. Lastly the cost of the tutoring, which while competitive, is expensive. However this is the case with all 1 on 1 tutoring services. I would recommend Wessex Tutors if you are retaking A levels, as if you work hard and put in the effort so will your tutors.
