    The service department are either inept, duplicitous or deceitful... I purchased a 2nd hand Mitsubishi from a 3rd party. I brought the vehicle to Wessex Garages for a service and asked them specifically to check the car over and make sure it was all fit and healthy. I was promised that this could and would be done when I checked the vehicle in, the checks carried out at the same time as the service and MOT. A year later I have now found that the wheel locking wheel nuts have been overtightened and the tyre specialist place were unable to remove without fear of breaking the wheel. I asked Wessex Garages to confirm that wheels had either been checked (as requested), removed as part of the service (as expected) or if the nuts had been overtightened by their service department. No, the written records show that the wheels were not removed as it is not part of that service instruction set. So, either the Service Department representative that booked my vehicle in did not ask the Service Department mechanic to carry out the additional checks (duplicitous - I would have gone elsewhere to have the car checked), have lied to avoid liability and the wheels were removed, were removed and not recorded (deceitful) or the mechanics have removed the wheels and then over tightened the wheel nuts (inept). Whichever of these statements are true I'll not be returning. So, if you're happy for the bare minimum to be carried out when servicing your vehicle then this is the place for you. Please be aware, however, that there are better garages that will charge you less money for a better service out there.
