Absolutely loved being outside again with my camera under the direction of David. The opportunity to review on-site and receive feedback immediately was invaluable. A day out with a camera, away from the office, is so good for the soul and mental health.

I really enjoyed my stay at Wernog Wood. Claire and Rob are very welcoming and the place is relaxing, comfortable and well thought out. Claire made us some lovely food. I had a great time on the Cyanotype course. Caroline, the tutor, explained the process really well and we all produced lots of amazing cyanotype prints. All in all, a great experience.

What a fantastic venue Wernog Wood is! I’ve just spent the weekend on the blacksmith course which was also fantastic! Rob and Claire are very welcoming and made us all feel at home. Rich the blacksmith was great and guided us through the processes of making a fire poker and a bottle opener very successfully! The food was lovely with a great menu put on both days! I will be returning to complete a number of other courses they have on offer very soon. Highly recommended!

What a great place! My first time at Wernog Wood on a 3 day lino print course, the hosts Claire and Rob couldn’t have been more accommodating, even inflating my almost flat tyre at the end of the day! The facilities are fantastic, Claire’s food hits the spot and there is a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere about the place. Brontë Adams our tutor filled us all with confidence and really got the best out of the group. Certainly a place I will visit again.

A brilliant weekend learning and being creative in a welcoming space with lovely people. So glad we chose to stay in the bell tent too, a simple space but cozy even on a dull weekend in April!

Great hosts Claire and Rob, at Wernog Wood, and a great 2 day course in stone carving, I didn’t know quite what to expect and this was way outside my comfort zone and it turned out to be a lovely creative experience. Andrew Worthington the tutor was excellent, and gave basic instruction and then more detailed advice as you needed it, building gradually on what you were trying to achieve, but not at all overdone, and with encouragement from start to finish, there was a lot of freedom involved in developing the artworks. From my rough sketches ‘let’s see how to find what is inside this block of limestone’ was in my mind the whole time, and as a group we produced surprisingly and radically different results. I have to say it was complete enjoyment from start to finish. Great food, tea breaks and quite a lot of biscuits!, and the music was a nice surprise. There were other courses going on at the same time so nice to be able to observe from a distance how they too were getting on. Great course, and great place to come to.

I recently attended a leather craft course at wernog, Claire and Rob were excellent hosts and lunches were enjoyable. The course tutor, Mike Reid, was exceptional and guided myself and the other students to producing fabulous items. I will be booking on another course before long. Thank you all for a great weekend. Vince.
