DON'T USE THIS DEPOT OR THEIR SERVICE ENGINEER!! Spoke to their service engineer Paul at the Plymouth depot on Tuesday who told me he would have a diagnostic report by end of day, that never came. Finally got him on the phone on Thursday after several attempts only for him to say that he still had not looked at my TIG machine but would give me a call by 1 pm that day with a report. That never came. Tried to call him but no answer. Received a garbled text from Paul stating that he'd looked at my machine but fault was not standard and had spoken to the manufactures but their technician was on holiday until next week so could not get any tech support from them but hoped to have diagnose by end of day, that never came. Friday morning I tried to call Paul again but as usual no answer, called the depot number at their Plymouth branch, where he is based, to find out why I was still waiting only to be told that Paul was out on call and would not be back till the afternoon. At this point I complained to the manager in the shop, who took it all very personally and told me that it they won't be fixing my machine and they would drop it back at some point next week to their Redruth depot as I live in Cornwall. I told them that I would come and collect it that day, a 120 mile round trip for myself, as they had wasted a week of my time and needed it due to a loss of over a £1000 in loss production to my company. Dropped machine off at another repair company, JWS Ltd in Saltash, on way home, who looked at it that day only to discover that the machines covers had never been removed, circuit boards still covered in dust and there was no way anyone could of carried out any kind of testing to find any kind fault on the machine! (Pictures attached as evidence of the lack of inspection on machine) and once they had cleared the dust out of the machine found no fault with it, just the dust causing the problem. Excellent honest service I must say! Also called the manufactures on the only number available and their technician was available, not on holiday and had not received any call from wellington welding staff or anyone called Paul concerning the model of my machine! Not judging the whole company on 2 individuals but the two I dealt with, the manager was rude and extremely unsympathetic to the the stress and cost the company had cost me. Paul is just a blagging liar whom I can only assume would of charged me for parts that were never needed or ordered! Use this companies depot in Plymouth at your own peril, disgusting attitude and service!!!
