The doctors and nurses are lovely and helpful BUT it has a very small carpark ( I walk) and can be hard to get a parking spot. Unfortunately it seems to be very difficult to actually get to see a doctor, consultations seem to be mostly done over the phone, don't enjoy waiting by my phone all day for a call back from a doctor especially when I have to work - I was really worried about my son (who rarely goes to the doctors) and receptionist told me to go to a chemist and ask them about the problem , but it wasn't relevant in this case and I had to be very persistent to get a call back from a doctor, when I eventually got the call back the doctor was lovely, very helpful and reassuring and arranged for some blood tests very quickly at the practice for my son , at a convenient time (before school started) and some medication. We had to get an appointment for a follow up blood test 3 weeks later but when I rang for one they tried to say they couldn't do it there and I had to go to Donnington šŸ¤” (I live 5 mins walk away from Newport docs) eventually got one after being very persistent again, but they wouldn't do it at convient time like last time (it takes 5 mins). The nurse we saw couldn't understand why it was so difficult for me to get an appointment either, especially as it was at the doctors request and apparently it was ok to have gone in before school. So I don't look forward to ringing the practice and I need to go myself and I am putting it off as I don't want to explain to the receptionist what's wrong with me! P. S. it's a very long wait on the phone lines especially at 8. 30am!

Terrible service. They seem to go out of their way to make access as difficult as possible. The standard response to any request is "call at 8am tomorrow". If you happen to be unwell after this time then you're on your own. I can't understand how they get away with providing such poor patient access.

The worst doctors surgery around!!!! Literally impossible to get an appointment with the G.P! Have been trying for 12 days keep getting told to call back tomorrow, The receptionists think they are doctors so therefore getting an appointment with an actual G.P is out the window, itā€™s an absolute disgrace of doctors surgery.

I have always been very pleased with the service I have received from all sectors. This comment is about appointments and the timing which I feel needs some thought. I was advised by reception to get to surgery by 8am,which I did. I then waited for eight hours for a telephone call. A morning or afternoon time would be helpful.

The Doctors at the surgery are actually really good but itā€™s the receptionists or receptionist thatā€™s letting it down massively.. Refused to book my 7 month old in with a nurse to get him weighed so he could be prescribed the right amount of medication, told I had to book in with the health visitor who couldnā€™t get me in until the end of April, the her response to this was ā€œitā€™s fineā€ Registered with another practice later that same day, they got my baby in weighed him and prescribed him his meds all the same day.
