To start with, it is a picturesque place. There is a lovely spot on the north side where you can have a picnic and enjoy the sun reflection in the water. The hedge around the picnic area will protect from the breeze creating nice sun trap. The walks are very muddy so be prepared. The chef and the sailing club cafe will prepare you a really delicious breakfast

Lovely local resource closely guarded by selfish fisherman and sailors. Go early AM you want a swim/proper look

Water level at the lowest I've ever seen it. Fascinating how quickly the dried up areas have become populated with plants.

We've lived in the area for over 30 years and know it well. So many times we've been there and people have asked how they can do the walk 'around the reservoir'. You can't really get close apart from a couple of places on the north side, and the footpath is basically a narrow walkway with the big fence keeping you away from it. We walked down once to the end of the road on the north side and the gates were open and people out on the water in canoes. We were chatting to a couple of chaps who were sitting watching when a canoer came in from the water, asked us if we were with the club. We said no , and then he told us to leave since we weren't allowed due to 'safeguarding'. Escorted us to the gates and made a show of closing and locking them. I'm surprised the officious little twerp didn't canoe over to the bird watchers on the south side with their telephoto lenses and ask them to stop. I don't really know where another reviewer said there was a picturesque village flooded by it ! There was nothing there ...

Weir Wood is a fabulous, large, venue for a day's pleasure fishing. You are sharing the water with other waters port's enthusiasts but there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their passion. We caught plenty of quality Roach & Skimmer Bream on simple waggler and feeder tactics with bites all day - perfect.

Great place for a walk but you wont.see much of the reservoir unless you gain a bit of height on adjacent land. Bird hide far side plenty of feeders out. An osprey is known to visit

Area of outstanding natural beauty in East Grinstead area. My uncle knew it from days out cycling here before WW2 broke out. So knew the picturesque village now lost to sight under the waters. Love walking here and seeing the many species of water fowl.

Saw the reservoir maybe once at the car park where we started and then not again until we got back to the carpark. Possibly the biggest anti-climax ever as spent the whole walk thinking we'd get to walk alongside the reservoir at some point and we never did. Instead got to see a lot of barbed wire fences and tall shrubbery surrounding the perimeter and walked along the road for a lot of it. Also a very poorly signposted trail, that left us trying to guess the route and walking through what was probably private property. Would have been better if we had just stayed at the carpark and not attempted the 2 and a half hour disappointment.
