The Belvedere Mound reminds us of the Weald Estate of the 18th Century! It is literally a hill on top of a hill! Artificially created Mound used to be a formal settings with fence, gates and straight paths! There are few remains of the Weald Estate and Belvedere Temple survived - the stairs and path at the bottom on the mound, the remains of the folly at the top and a small section of Ha-ha on the east side towards the cricket ground car park. Ha-ha used to keep out the deers entering into the mound garden. There are benches available for you to relax and enjoy the majestic atmospheric view of the Weald Country Park! If you are lucky, you can see wild deers and baby deers wandering around! Climbing the Belvedere Mound is bit tricky for those with mobility restrictions due to the steep elevation. Climbing the Belvedere Mound from the Cricket Ground Car Park or Bluebell Pond sides have much easier elevation than the Belvedere Car Park side!
