Fantastic scenery and great biking roads to here. Not much here on arrival . With a small shop. But makes a great base for exploring on foot or with vehicle

Fantastic campsite, clean facilities and well stocked shop. Staff were brilliant upon arrival, especially when we were in a bit of a tight spot. Best campsite I've been to in years.

Very close to start of quick route for ascending Scafell Pike. Very popular so book in advance. Good facilities and reasonable price, very isolated with lots of single track roads.

£9 all day parking, not too bad. Tricky to get there as some roads are very narrow.

Very well kept shower /toilet/pot wash area. Helpful staff. Breathtaking scenery. We were in a large (7mtr) motor home, so access to Wasdale valley is down a track for several miles, which was... .erm.. . .. interesting & rather challenging but not impossible. We aren't NT members but we're made welcome by an informed, professional staff. NB. There is no Wi-Fi, you'll enjoy switching off & talking to people. Let your family & friends know that you'll be unreachable for most of the time.

Stayed here earlier this week. Great facilities, super friendly staff and real helpful, like its fun not a chore. What a stunning quiet location. Even with traffic for parking to climb, its still tranquil. 25 minute walk to the pub, well worth it. The lake is worth a walk too. Loved it
