I’ve joined Wanstead Shotokan Karate Club 12 years ago as a black belt after moving to London, and instantly felt at home. The team is warm and welcoming, the trainers are very knowledgable and motivating, and the training is fun and of high quality for students at any level. Every now and then we’re joined by guest instructors, students can participate in championships, and I love our annual traditions at Christmas and New Years when even the family members are excited to get involved.

My son has been training at Wanstead Shotokan Karate club for more than 3 years. It's been an exciting journey. Sensei Gary is knowledgeable, disciplined and extremely committed. He has been personally involved in training and monitoring progress for each student. During lockdown, to avoid losing focus, Sensei Gary ensured continuity via multiple online classes for everyone. The classes are held in utmost professional manner. I would always recommend this to anyone interested to learn Karate. Thank you.

Wanstead Karate Club is great. My three kids joined here a few months ago having moved from another Dojo. Sensei Gary was very welcoming, and is a very good teacher and role model. He is a good listener and very observant. He knows how to get the best from his students and is very encouraging. All the instructors here are very good and I would have no reservations recommending this club.
