One of my favourite nature retreats in the city :) As a local resident, I find myself coming to the Wetlands whenever possible though I do wish it would be open until sunset or something for those of us, who work until 5 pm and want to visit on a week day. I enjoy the tranquility and spotting wildlife, as well as the views. In terms of suggestions for improvement, I think it would be nice to have some benches or some areas for visitors to be able to sit down and soak in the environment. Or, maybe some picnic tables could be installed? It can get difficult to walk for hours on a hotter and sunnier day otherwise! I have yet to visit the cafe - shocked me that I had not spotted it before! - so cannot comment on that yet, except that maybe there needs to be better signage to get to it in the first place. Would recommend the Wetlands to anyone, looking for a quiet escape!
