If I had to base my review on the phone line alone and getting an appointment it would be a 1 star review. However the staff I have dealt with this past week deserve 5 stars hands down. From Kay (possibly Kate) who booked in my appointment to nurses Caylie and Harriet who looked after me for a week after a recent surgery wound became infected. Can’t praise them highly enough.

Seeing these reviews really shocked me. I have never once had problems getting through to the practice, the queues are always short and sweet when I need to call. Dr Sheppard is amazing, kind and truly listened to my concerns. She really cares which I find incredibly motivating in terms of taking care of my own health. The staff have always been able to efficiently pass on my messages to her and get a speedy response. Staff have always been helpful and communication has been great. When I missed an appointment due to work, I was as offered one the next day and then Dr Sheppard managed to fit me in and added a slot for me later that week. I really appreciate the support and flexibility regarding my schedule/situation. I understand all experiences are different but as a young person who works full time, this is a really good practice. Not having to call to make appointments is a massive bonus as well for me.

What a shambles. I have been with this practice for 10+ years and have always praised them. But now it has gone down hill. Can't book any appointments in advance. All appointments are on the day and you are required to call at either 8am or 2pm or book on the app at only 7am or 1pm. If the appointments run out start again tomorrow... don't worry if you work, because they don't care.

If I could give zero stars I would have. As the majority of reviews have mentioned the phone lines are ridiculous - the recorded message needs updating. Obviously in place to make it seem like you’re not waiting so long, once you’re through and selected you then get out on hold forever. Again as the majority have mentioned the reception staff bar the one or two are the rudest I’ve come across - baring in mind I’ve moved 17 times… one in particular - Jo - is disgracefully rude with a shocking attitude. In fact I’ve saved the number as “DRS do not speak to Jo” as a reminder when I call / receive a call. The amount of times they’ve misdiagnosed and given the wrong medication to myself and family is untold, also another serious incident that I won’t go in to… anyway DO NOT JOIN!!!

Ridiculous system whereby you can only make appointments on the day, no advance appointments.... as if that wasn't bad enough, you can only make the appointment at 2 specific times of the day! When the time comes around, you can't get through to book an appointment on the phone as the line is constantly engaged/busy (can't even leave a message or join a queue) and the website has crashed so you can't use that either. 👎

The Doctors there are phenomenal, all of them I’ve ever had have looked after me and ensured I was well both physically and mentally before dismissal from the surgery.

Prior to Covid the Surgery was something else, I even complimented them for a terrific work they were doing. Now, I am not sure why it's even open. You can't get through in the first place to make an appointment to see a GP, if you are one of the lucky one's that goes through and is offered one on the day, you are the lucky one. I have tried the online appointment, it offers you an appointment 30 days or more, which is no good to anyone unless it's not urgent. With so many staff and GP's, I am surprised why the service has become so awful and so unhelpful. What is so annoying is that when you finally do see a GP, which is never your own designated GP, the way you are greeted is either "what is the problem" or "so why are you here today"? I mean why does anyone go to the GP, it can't be due to a fun day out, seriously. How does a phone assessment help a patient, when they need to be examined or to show the Doctor something, it's just ridiculous and I don't know how and why the GP's have decided this is the best way forward for patient's to be treated. I am overwhelmingly disappointed with their services and their new system which is no good to the patients and if that is their way of treating us fairly and professionally, they really need to sit down and have a reality check and do a consultation to see how angry and frustrated most patients are. This is not what we are paying for as taxpayer's, this is not how we should be treated and unless people voice their concerns, it will eventually get worse if that is at all possible.
