Very friendly and welcoming, not a typical synogogue that I am used to, not that I know that many. Just appears a bit bare, not many pues, they use tables and chairs, recently refurbished and upholstered, so comfortable. Good library of books in Hebrew and English, covering many aspects of the Jewish religion. Services are however extremely good, was very pleased with how the congregation sounded when singing as a group, favourably compares with a very good choir. Food and drink is provided after service, I really don't understand how they can afford such luxury, probably someone sponsors. Very good community spirit, makes me feel I belong, which is how it should be. If you are near East London come join in. They have a good alter area with four Torah Scrolls, recently renovated to good condition, after some fundraising. On Friday mid day they sale bakery items from Woodberry Downs bakery, rye bread, cholas etc. Kosher wine and grape juice. Matzos and matzo meal. Also smoke salmon. They also have candles, candle sticks, menorah, and offer a mezuzah service.
