PLEASE READ.. I very rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to write one regarding this practice. Please note I have been here many years and the Drs themselves have always been very good and I am sad to now be leaving but enough is finally enough. I am writing this review to make others aware to only join this surgery as a last resort. And even then I’d NOT bother. From the struggles I have had over the phone numerous times with the obtuse receptionist (who today after my clear and polite explanation of needing my prescription after a recent CHANGE by nature of an increased dose of my current medication) could only offer up a vague and uncertain “few days”. I do run out at a certain point which I made clear and asked for some guarantee the prescription could have been authorised by the Dr before that time. She could offer not such guarantee and repeated to state that they take “a few days” …. So to me a “few days” is a very subjective term and quite haphazard when dealing with someone’s ongoing health issues and my clear and polite mind explanation of the simple task I was asking for them to do which was to ask if my prescription could be sent to the pharmacy as last time this was delayed and even after me chasing it - when it arrived it was incomplete and then involved me chasing again so having learnt from that I decided to call up to try to reduce the risk of another similar delay and mess up. May I add 2 days had already elapsed at the time of my call for the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy. Yet they still needed “a few days”. If they cannot deal with the patients they currently have in an agreeable, timely and professional manner (possibly due to the increased population of the town with new builds ?) then they should not be enlisting new patients and perhaps look after those they already have better. I have often waited on the phone 30/40 minutes or more just to get a pick up. It laughingly states on a pre recording each caller has to listen to that “ A polite word goes along way” so perhaps they could do some staff training and apply this request to their staff too. I was so disappointed and frustrated by the abysmal lack of empathy and the vagueness of her nature after I was so very polite did ask for her name for reference purposes to indeed have some recourse if the “few days” didn't materialise ….she refused to give it. I also said I would be in touch with the practice manager….her words were something along the lines of “you do that then” and then hung up. Please note I was not abusive and if the practice manager reads these reviews I urge you to listen to the call. Also on a side note, but by which may provide an overview and perhaps more disgusting….I was queuing at the reception and the lady in front was taking longer than perhaps the average person may. This was not her fault. These things happen. Due to the nature of the appointments this in turn made the man directly behind this lady a minute or two late for his appointment. The receptionist said in an aggressive manor that he should have used the automatic booking in computer screen by the door and he was now late for his appointment🤦🏻♂️. He said he tried, but it was playing up (this has happened to me also a couple of times over the years) so he was patiently waiting to just notify the receptionist in person, of his arrival. Upon his polite explanation of why he was now slightly late and not if his own doing when he turned his back to walk to the waiting room the receptionist (who was sat alone) pulled a face and very noticeably rolled her eyes. This is totally unprofessional and I was shocked to see this and my only regret is I never made the practice manager aware on the day. I’m sure if the manager was interested this would not be hard to work out who this was!?!?….I understand there may be an issue with retention or recruitment of receptionists (or care navigators) as they are referred to but they really show no care or indeed any such navigation skills from my long recent experiences. Please avoid or join at your peril.

A wonderful reception team, who always are extremely polite even when under pressure. The most thorough GPs who are kind, caring and provide a high standard of professionalism. I feel very lucky to be a patient at this practice.

I would like to say thank you very much to Nurse Georgia and the Receptionist on duty on 18 July when I stupidly forgot my blood form and they still managed it to save me going back home in very high heat.

I undertook a pre-employment medical whereby a minor issue was detected. I was told to speak to my GP to arrange further investigation. I would have had more luck speaking to a brick wall… First I was asked ‘oh, do they not do that for you?’ Then ‘well if you’re doing part of it privately, why don’t you get it all done private?’ After feeling they’re trying to fob me off, eventually I’m offered a telephone call with a Dr, but not for another 3 weeks! I did end up arranging everything privately, with a clinic who were able to see me that afternoon. I’m very disappointed Walford Mill were unable to help me here for what should have been a fairly routine 5 minute appointment. Instead I had to go round the houses, waiting weeks for a telephone call. Even though I had clear instructions written by the Dr who undertook my original medical. I’m now £630 out of pocket. Other family members have had similar experiences.

If I could leave no stars I would. Disgusting vile human beings which work in this doctor surgery. My mum has stage 4 lung cancer and is on palliative care and they will not ever give her the pain medication which is on a repeat presentation to her even after her palliative care team and lung team have spoke to them and send numerous emails saying they cannot withhold this medication from someone that is dying and is in severe pain! They are all so unprofessional they make my mum sit there for ages while they don’t resolve anything! God forbid any of them had a terminal illness and was treated so Despicably. I cannot express enough how people should stay away from them. If it was up to them my mum Would be dead! Disgusting humans that work here. I would tell anyone to change surgery’s as they do not have peoples best interest at heart. Walford mill you disgust me.

Had a phone consultation which was very good, then they wanted to see me, and I was seen the same day as the phone call. Sent off for some tests, follow up face to face appointment, and all good. Thank you.

I’ve just joined the surgery having moved frim Verwood, and have to say how impressed I have been with every member of staff who I have dealt with so far. They have been efficient and ever-do friendly. I was even able to get a non-urgent appointment within a reasonable timeframe. Keep up the great work!
