Friday morning before a Bank Holiday weekend and shelves virtually empty in the Newbury branch, not because it's been busy but because Waitrose seems incapable of scheduling deliveries. Total shambles and not an isolated incident. Availability of basic items has become much poorer over the last year. Waitrose used to be the best for choice and availability, not any more. Now off to Sainsburys to get everything I could not get here

Nice place to stop for a snack and a cup of tea. They have changed their fish finger meal from a wrap to a bun sorry to say I prefer the wrap.

It's a supermarket, but a nice one. Staff friendly, atmosphere very pleasant. Added John Lewis section. Cafe still not open, as of Feb 10th. Getting worried they'll shut it, as it's one of the main reasons we shop there. Update 14th April ... Cafe is open Update 16th June ... Still nice supermarket Update 19th August ... Ditto No change Update Mar 2023 ... No change Still fine

(+) 8/10 Customer Service; great location; plenty of parking; plenty of product choice (including bringing Newcastle Brown back!); good opening times; recycling options; clean toilets; "free" coffee. (-) Prices! Disappointing things like poor value vouchers; stopping free newspapers; not reactivating green coins for charity; not taking broken trolleys & scanners out of service; no monitoring people whose parking renders adjacent spaces unusable or who deliberately drive the wrong way; abandoned trolleys in carpark spaces; litter; Weekend papers not restocked upon running out; accepting feedback yet doing nothing (e.g. lack of PINpad shields & Wi-Fi issues.)
