Tom Waghorn is a brilliant master at his craft. An exceptional luthier who has the rare skillset to make your individual vision become reality. During my 30 years of guitar playing I have owned and played many, many guitars and my custom made Waghorn Guitar is hands down the best sounding, most playable and visually most stunning guitar I have ever played. You would be nuts NOT to have him build your dream instrument so take the chance as long as you still can! :)

I was looking for a quality luthier to build my dream electric guitar to my own design, with a unique, classy shape you won’t find in any standard guitar shop. I’d waited forty years before I was in a financial position to be able to make my 1983 dream a reality - and when I started searching in the Bristol area, Waghorn Guitars stood out a mile! Tom not only specialises in creating unique, hand-built guitars from scratch - delighting in seeing a new guitar appear under his hands from his carefully-selected pieces of quality hardwoods - but he also has the highest-possible standards when it comes to craftsmanship and finish. You only have to take a look inside his workshop, at the amazing collection of half-built acoustic and electric guitars, to see that! His workmanship is staggeringly good! I just collected my unique, namesake guitar today - and I was blown away by the sheer perfection of it as a build! Forty years ago it was just a dream - a drawing on a piece of paper - but today Tom Waghorn has turned it into a reality for me! He really is an artist, a master of his trade and a perfectionist of the highest order! And he’s such a nice bloke, too! I can’t recommend Waghorn Guitars highly enough!

I took my guitar here for a long overdue setup, re-string, adding a strap button, and some other general maintenance on the finish. George was excellent. He gave me a breakdown on what he would do, what it would cost, and how long it would take. I picked up the guitar earlier and am very happy, especially the work on the finish which came out so much better than I expected. George even went the extra mile to help protect some other spots where the finish was starting to flake at no extra cost. Very friendly service, will definitely use them again for anything else I need doing on my guitar!

Went to see about possible electric (jazz) guitar commission, having already spoken with Max. Met Tom (Waghorn). Great guy; clearly a very knowledgeable luthier. No hard sell, just lots of advice and detailed answers to my questions. Workshop was full of amazing custom guitars in various stages of completion. Inspected, close up, much of his work... and was simply blown away by the craftsmanship. Things I thought were done via laser-cutting machines were, in fact, done by hand! INCREDIBLE! Haven't posted any photos because I think Tom would probably want to keep a certain amount of privacy for his customers.
