My experience in the showroom was very good but it was following the purchase that all the problems started. The automatic Nissan Navarra was delivered by the Vospers delivery team. On the agreed delivery day my purchased vehicle developed an engine fault. I declined delivery and the vehicle was taken to Nissan Barnstaple. The fault had been caused by the Vospers driver who was using the brake and accelerator simultaneously. However, despite resetting the fault and advising the Vosper driver, in the few miles between Barnstaple and Bideford the fault appeared again. Again I rejected the vehicle and it was returned to Nissan Barnstaple. After they confirmed no damage had been done I collected the vehicle myself. At Nissan Barnstaple I discovered the vehicle had no documents so they checked the vehicle on the Nissan database. Despite selling to me in December‘22 there was no pre sale service nor new mot! Eventually, a pair of Vosper drivers arrived to pick up my Volvo and they had a file with my documents. When I checked them the service record book was blank! This was a Nissan certified used car! I called and they asked that I send the service book back. I did this and it was returned by post with one Nissan service and one “pre sale” service that I discovered later was not entered into the Nissan system so was not an official Nissan recognised service, despite being a couple of thousand miles short of the official next Nissan service! I then checked for my Nissan two year extended warranty but there was no documentation other than a phrase on the sale receipt. I had also purchased GAP insurance but again there was no documentation other than a line on the sale receipt. I telephoned the sales team and they sent the documents but none were signed, dated or stamped with the Nissan Vosper branch. The lack of a genuine pre sale service was made obvious when a month later the vehicle was in limp mode with a blocked DPF filter despite only being driven a few hundred miles. That was sorted by Nissan Barnstaple under Nissan Warranty. Later in April whilst on holiday in the south of France the air conditioning failed to cool the vehicle interior so upon my return it was tested and re-gassed by Nissan Barnstaple. Frankly, Nissan Vospers have left me feeling they have either been a very shrewd sales team or hopeless in what one would expect from a Nissan Approved Used Vehicle. I could not recommend Nissan Vospers but would highly recommend Nissan Barnstaple who salvaged the situation each time. Perhaps having previously enjoyed the exceptional service of Kastners Volvo I have expected too much of Nissan Vosper. Disappointed with myself for not practising “buyer beware” with the Vosper sales team.
