Review of Food Shack attached to volcano falls, not the golfing experience. And their 'Street Menu'. Calls for a snack a coffee....to be honest they don't have a kitchen as such, and therfore are using mini ovens and minimal catering facilities so I shouldn't really of expected much; however when you pay a good amount for food and drinks you would expect quality and care. Tea - quite cool temperature wise and not of good quality. Hot chocolate was cold/warmish. Poor selection of bought in cakes and biscuits. Pizza and toasted tea cake! Pizza was certainly 'cooked' from frozen I would say in the mini oven probably so cane out as you would expect! Hot dog was a pretty stale bread with a basic hot dog you might buy in a tin, with a sachet of ketchup stuck in the side of the sausage! Now let's speak about toasted tea cake, how hard can this be! I would say definitely frozen tea cake, grilled on the outside but hardly cooked on the inside with frozen solid butter ...the bread wasn't hot enough to even melt the butter! Poor. I understand that places can have limited space and facilities for cooking and young staff that probably receive minimal training or incentives to be enthusiastic, but if you are going to offer a limited menu then at least do it really well and of top quality and with care, so that people want to come back time and time again! Surely! There are many many small coffee shops in xscape offering food and yes they might be of different prices and menu's but having been my 1st visit to Food shack then unfortunately it will be my last, as would sooner pay alot more but know that I am getting quality, well presented products. Seems like a minimal effort or maximum profit scenario, which is sad from a customer satisfaction stance. Hope it improves in the future as my children wouldn't even try the food. Sorry but I post as I see/experience.
